Getting started

Four waypoints from first question to first session

Idaho's developmental disability services are funded through Medicaid. Here's the path most families follow, and we're glad to help at every step.

  1. Step 1: Apply for Idaho Medicaid

Income isn't necessarily a disqualifier. Let Medicaid know your family member has a disability and may need a medical review.

  2. Step 2: Apply for DD services

Adults apply through the Bureau of Developmental Disability Services (BDDS). For children, an application for Children's Services is submitted and a case manager is assigned.

  3. Step 3: Choose Waypoint

Let your service coordinator or case manager know you'd like Waypoint as your developmental disabilities agency (DDA).

  4. Step 4: Build a plan together

We complete assessments, set goals with you, and begin services at our center, at home, or in the community.

For families

You don't have to figure it out alone.

Medicaid applications, assessments, and eligibility reviews can feel overwhelming. If you still need a diagnosis or an evaluation, we can help you find medical professionals in our area, then walk with you through what comes next.

  • Clear answers about eligibility for adults and children
  • Help connecting with evaluations and documentation
  • Services at our center, in your home, or out in the community
